ABOUT THE DESIGN:
On the front is the MIR Skull.Inspired by Russian Criminal Tattoos. This type of skull was tattooed to show a more accurate symbol of Soviet Russia.
On the back is the MIR Eagle logo. This eagle has been around for thousands of years. It belonged to the Romans before Ze Germans grabbed it for themselves. This type of Eagle was a powerful anti-establishment and anti-administration symbol during the 50's and 60'. In Russian prison subculture, German symbolism was usually meant to show disdain for the system and the government. The eagle conveys the message "Strike first, Dont wait for them to hit you!"
MIR is a Russian word for "peace". But its an acronym for "Menya Ispravit Rastrel" meaning "Execution will Reform Me".
The spider and web on the hood are tattooed in many cultures. In Russian criminal societies it has various meanings. It could mean that the wearer was caught up in the life that he/she chose. If the spider was moving up the web, it meant that he/she was leaving the life, if it was going down then he was planning to stick around for a while. The spider and web can also signify a connection to the drug world or addiction.
