ABOUT THE DESIGN:
Straight from the alleyways and dark streets of Odessa comes this traditional Russian made "Telnyashka". Standard issued to Russian armed forces, it was made fashionable during the 40's and 50's by hoodlums, hooligans, Thieves, ex-cons and various other colorful characters and is still quite popular today with men and women in Russia.
The eagle on the front was tattooed mostly during the 30's and 40's and belongs to some of the earliest Russian Criminal tattoos. It symbolized strength and freedom. It was very popular among the Thieves of that time. This particular one was a play to mix the Soviet hammer and sickle with the Imperial eagle of Tsarist Russia.
