About the design:
This is a rare Vietnam-Era U.S. helicopter pilots issue fire resistant shirt/jacket. It's constructed out of 100% high-temp resistant nylon and is very warm, considering that it has no liner. The material is soft and flexible. It has a zip pocket on one of the sleeves, a neck guard that can be worn open or closed by way of velcro. Theres also velcro on the sleeve cuffs for a cool tapered look. The jacket closes with a black matte industrial style zipper.
We decided to make it even cooler by altering it a bit to give it a more fitted look and stamping it with the MIR Eagle logo on the front and the ShtrafBat Division logo on the back.
SHTRAFBAT Division was the name for the penal battalions that were drafted from various prisons and camps around USSR during World War II. Inmates were told that if they joined the army to fight the Germans and help the Motherland, then their sentences would be commuted and they would go free after the war. Needless to say that after the war was won, Stalin ordered those inmates who served in the SHTRAFBAT to be put right back where they came from, "Zona" (prison).
The eagle conveys the message "Strike first, Dont wait for them to hit you!"
MIR is a Russian word for "world". But its an acronym for "Menya Ispravit Rastrel" meaning "Execution will Reform Me".
